For all those waiting for a light-hearted romantic caper, Jabardasth is the film for you. The movie will hit theatres on February 22 and it stars the Telugu cinema’s lover boy Siddharth along with the new sensation Samantha Ruth Prabhu.

Director B V Nandini Reddy is back after two years. Her first film Ala Modalaindi (2011) was a superhit, and now she is presenting Jabardasth. The director says she was hit by the idea of making Jabardasth when somebody asked her to make a film on the climax of Ala Modalaindi. She feels that Jabardasth has a “different meter and a different grammar”. In Ala Modalaindi the entertainment was at its peak during the climax sequence, while the rest of the film was subtle; Jabardasth, on the other hand, has a different entertainment quotient.

So what to expect from Jabardasth? According to the makers, the youngsters would relate to the characters in the film. Reddy says that it’s a whole bunch of madcap characters put together in a bhelpuri mix. Thus spicy and loaded with fun! Even Reddy is least worried about the class and mass distinction. She says, “I have made the mass look cute.”

Now, something about the characters: Siddharth as seen in the trailer of the film is a funny guy who doesn’t know English, and Samantha has a lot of spunk and attitude. The movie also has a cameo by the south siren Nithya Menon. Jabardasth also boasts of a few good songs, and its album is composed by S. Thaman.

As the movie is nicely packed with fun and frills can the cinephiles expect another superhit by B V Nandini Reddy? Catch a few romantic stills of Samantha and Siddharth from the movie:
