What made Deepika look different from the rest? When Deepika Padukone walked in elegance, wearing a white Anamika Khanna saree, it was magical. The saree had an ornate pallu with chikankari-embroidered border, which she paired with a bandhgala blouse. Though our sexy Deeps is mostly seen in shorts and chic casuals, she personally likes anything Indian over western outfits. In fact, her first appearance in Cannes Film Festival also saw her in a saree.
It’s even said that the actress came dressed as ‘Leela’, her character in Ram Leela, for SLB’s birthday bash. When Deepika Padukone received an invite for a party to celebrate Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s 50th birthday, she was busy shooting for Chennai Express with Rohit Shetty in Wai. However, the actress squeezed some time out to attend the splendid event, and travelled six hours by road to finally reach the party destination, and what could be a better way to cheer her director than by sporting a look from his film.
Well, seeing her draped in white yarn, we too think she was channeling ‘Leela’ off-screen as well because the film has her in traditional outfits. However, designer Anju Modi, who has worked on the costumes of Ram Leela need not feel offended as the saree worn by Deepika is by Anamika Khanna.
Deepika finished her charming ethnic look with DvF Coryn clutch, polki jewellery, coral lips, and hair worn up in a chignon. Have a look at these pictures of Miss Padukone:
