Suriya's 'Singam 2'
Tamil star Suriya will soon be back on the big screen with his much-anticipated film Singam 2. No wonder, the actor feels that the sequel of Singam (2010) is going to be one of the best movies in his career. Once again, the audiences will get to see the adventures of Dorai Singam in the movie, which is said to be an extension of the original, and not a sequel.
Directed by Hari, the movie is now in the final stages of its shoot. As per the makers, the second part is a continuation of the first with additional characters, making it more entertaining than the first part. Singam 2 stars Anushka Shetty as Suriya’s wife, and Hansika Motwani as Shanthini. The movie also boasts of an ensemble star cast featuring veterans like Santhanam, Nassar, Vijay Kumar, Radha Ravi, Mukesh Rishi and Manorama. British actor Danny Sapani plays the main villain.
“I have retained all the characters from the first part and I have also added a few more actors in 'Singam 2'... Probably for the first time in Tamil cinema such a feat is attempted. Singam 2 will show further adventures of Dorai Singam, and here he has the support of not only Tamil Nadu police but also Andhra and Kerala Police,” says Hari in a statement.
Though the film is set in South India, some crucial parts of the movie’s second half are shot in South Africa. There is also a very important fight scene filmed in the crowded streets of Durban, while some action sequences are shot in Malaysia.
The music of the film is by the hit composer Devi Sri Prasad, and the sexbomb Anjali has shot for an item number. The makers are also planning an extensive promotion on the web for the film, and an official website will soon be launched to share information about the movie.
Singam 2 is expected to hit theatres in May. Meanwhile, catch some stills of your favourite Suriya from the sets of the film:
