Although Need for Speed will release in March 2014, the film’s makers have already started tickling the fancy of cinegoers. An adaptation of the much-liked NFS series of video games by Electronic Arts, Need for Speed has got its first video clip.
While there is not too much of the lead actor, Aaron Paul, in this one-minute clip, there’s plenty of action-packed footage. Director Scott Waugh says in the video, ‘Need for Speed is definitely accurate and authentic to real car racing culture...My job as a director is, I am gonna allow you that thrill and put you in the seat and let you drive at 230 mph.’
No doubt NFS has been adapted from the namesake video game, but comparisons with the Fast and Furious film franchise are inevitable. Honestly speaking, whenever a racing film is made, in any case, it is compared with the F & F franchise; and considering the remarkable response to Fast and Furious 6, NFS will have to prove its worth by pushing the envelope further, and taking it to a whole new level.
