Shahrukh Khan plays a 40-year-old who admits to having had a twist in his life. That twist is the spitfire south Indian girl (Deepika Padukone). SRK willy-nilly gets into a scrape with the feisty Deepika and has to accompany her to her ancestral village where her father (Sathyaraj) is a don with an unending entourage of cars and several scores of goons who flip out their knives, daggers, scythes and swords at the drop of a hat.
SRK is surely not in for a comforting holiday with this trouble-inviter of a girl.
“Jabse meri life mein aayi ho, my life fakht,” he snaps at her. “Same here,” she shoots back.
It’s this love-hate camaraderie between Shahrukh Khan and Deepika Padukone that makes this trailer of Chennai Express a super fun to watch.
Not to be missed is Deepika Padukone’s AUTHENTIC south Indian accent. Also do note that Shahrukh Khan carries an urn with someone’s ashes that he immerses in the sea.
Since it’s a Rohit Shetty film, there’s got to be cars tossed about and blown up.
Chennai Express is slated to hit theatres this Eid, on August 8.
