Going off air!
It has always been nerve-wracking for the producers of telly shows to keep the good ratings coming. While some serials come off with flying colours, others fizzle out soon. Blame it on the time band, storyline or characters, sometimes even good publicity can’t assure soaring TRPs. Recently, many big daily soaps have hit their lowest ratings, and any effort to put them back in the game has gone in vain.
So, whether it’s a serial by Sanjay Leela Bhansali or by the hit producers like Optimystix Entertainment, audiences’ verdict is already out. Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s first TV production Saraswatichandra couldn’t live up to the expectations of the viewers. At early stages, the serial fared well, but of late the new twists have lent little credibility to the soap, adapted from the noted Gujarati novel.
Same is the case with Sanaya Irani’s Chhanchhan, produced by Vipul D. Shah under Optimystix Entertainment. The serial was launched amidst much pomp and show in March, but nothing, not even Sanaya’s charm and wit, prompted the viewers to watch Chhanchhan regularly. The show might go off air soon.
In the line are many other shows that can get axed sooner or later. Check out the serials that couldn’t be the darlings of TV:
