Bongshells go pandal hopping
When Durga Puja festivities are on in full swing Bengali ladies simply can’t resist the six-yard! Be it their age-old benarasi saree, or dhakai jamdaani -- the traditional weave is their fashion choice as they go pandal hopping. We spotted Bollywood’s stunning Bengali ladies like Kajol, Sushmita Sen and Rani Mukerji strutting their stuff in their fancy sarees at Durga Puja celebrations in the last few days.
Kajol was seen making the most of the last four days of the celebrations, and like a true bongshell she didn’t ditch the ethnic garb for another outfit. Seen mostly in SVA (Sonam and Paras Modi) sarees, the actress wowed us with her sublime elegance. We especially loved her on Maha Navami when she draped the saree in a traditional Bengali style for sindoor khela. Side plait, jhumkis and red bindi complemented her look well.
Beside Kajol, Rani Mukerji was also seen at the North Bombay Sarbojanin Durga Puja on Ashtami. The doe-eyed beauty also chose a saree for the occasion and it was a handloom piece in beige and pink. The actress teamed her saree with heavy gold jewellery, and needless to say she looked fabulous in it.
Also, former Miss Universe Sushmita Sen made an appearance in a saree on Ashtami day. Her number was also in silk with red border. The lady opted for simple gold jewellery and was all smiles while posing for the cameras.
Here are the Bong beauties from this year’s Durga Puja celebrations. Whose saree style makes you say wow?
