Like every year, 2014, too, witnessed some top-drawer performances by celebrated Hollywood actors. While we all have our favourites, it would be interesting to see who finally walks away with the 86th Academy Award for Best Actor in a Leading Role.
Let’s begin with one of the most talked about nominations for the Best Actor in a Leading Role category, Leonardo DiCaprio. Including his nomination as producer this year for Best Picture for The Wolf Of Wall Street, this is the fifth Academy Award nomination for the blue-green-eyed actor.
He was previously nominated for Blood Diamond (Nominee, Actor in a Leading Role), The Aviator (Nominee, Actor in a Leading Role) and What's Eating Gilbert Grape (Nominee, Actor in a Supporting Role). Sadly though, Leonardo DiCaprio has never been able to get his hands on the Oscar Statuette.
In ‘The Wolf Of Wall Street’, Leonardo DiCaprio plays Jordan Belfort, a rich and brash stockbroker, who becomes involved in a securities exchange fraud. Incendiary and intense, this indubitably was DiCaprio’s best performance and he and his fans would be keeping their fingers crossed, hoping he emerges victorious at the 86th Academy Awards to be held on March 2, 2014, at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood, Los Angeles.
