Patriotism gets a makeover in ‘India Waale’ sung with much gusto by Vishal Dadlani, K.K., Shankar Mahadevan and Neeti Mohan.
The song’s setting is a plush party. A debonair Shahrukh Khan opens the track with signature style. Deepika Padukone walks down the stairs looking gorgeous in a lehenga-choli. A dapper Sonu Sood stands tall, while Abhishek Bachchan, dressed as an Arab, pops out from under a table. Boman Irani strides in to join the gang on the floor, and there’s also Vivaan Shah looking cute in a blue suit.
Half-way through, the song sneaks into a reverie, with some intimate moments between Shahrukh Khan and Deepika Padukone.
‘India Waale’ concludes with an electric performance by all the six actors in a stage concert. The song is composed by Vishal-Shekhar and penned by Irshad Kamil.
Talking about the song director Farah Khan said, “‘India waale’ is the first of its kind song. A dance anthem for sure! It gives you goose bumps and also forces you to get up and dance. It was truly the most difficult song to crack as not only I but Vishal-Shekhar and Irshad Bhai (Kamil) had to think of today’s patriotism and make a song around that. Today what we feel for our country is so different from the sentiments of the 70s and 80s. It’s really a song that encapsulates all that makes us uniquely Indiawaale.”
‘Happy New Year’ is a story of six Indians pulling off the world’s biggest robbery. The film will hit theatres this Diwali.
