'In the world of women, play by their rules or... ' says the punchline of director Abbas Mustan's film Aitraaz, that brings back that jodi of Akshay Kumar and Kareena Kapoor after Ajnabee.
Produced by Subhash Ghai, the film stars Priyanka Chopra in the role of a manipulative woman who would use any means to get what she wants.
Raj Malhotra (Akshay Kumar) is a suave businessman who did not play by women's rules in their world. So he paid the price and got accused for a shameful act that he says he did not commit.
The accuser is Sonia Sharma (Priyanka Chopra), an ambitious girl who knows how to take what she wants. And if she doesn't get what she wants, she would make the other person pay a price dearer than can be imagined.
Raj stands in the accused box in the court of law because he did not heed to her demands and desires. But he has the full support and compassion of his partner and colleague Priya (Kareena Kapoor). And since fire kills fire, so Priya can become an important player in revealing Sonia's ploy.
But Sonia has an excellent lawyer with her - Mr Patel (Paresh Rawal) who has an amazing success record in the court of law. He has the incredible quality of twisting the truth in favor of his client.
And fighting Raj's case is the Defence Lawyer Ram Choitrani (Annu Kapoor) who is no less convincing and can give a good fight to Patel.
As the battle lines are drawn in the courtroom, it remains to be seen who will walk out victorious. Raj's honor and esteem is at stake and Sonia is hell bent to take it all from him.
