Shahrukh did it, so did Sanjay Dutt. How could Govinda be left out?
Govinda’s next release Shikari has him in a negative role. “I am trying to break away from my happy-go-lucky and fun-loving image,” he says.
Directed by N
Chandra, of Tezaab, Ankush and Pratighaat fame, Shikari is a suspense thriller, predictably about things like injustice, passion and hatred.
The film has Chi Chi doing ‘things’ that would scare the daylights out of the audiences and give them the cold jitters. Releasing in about a month, Shikari also stars Karishma Kapoor, Tabu, Nirmal Pandey, Sushma Seth, Kiran Kumar and Johnny Lever.
The film also marks the return of the Govinda-Karisma pair that set the screen on fire in films like Hero No.1, Coolie No.1 and Hero No. 1. "Not only have Govinda and Karishma managed to give consistent hits and super hits, but have also matured as a pair over a period of time," says director N Chandra.
The careers of N Chandra and Govinda, both of who haven’t had hits in a long time, probably depends on this film.
