The A R Murugadass-directed Ghajini seems set to take the box office by storm, if the pre-release hype is any guide. The film is slated for a September 29 release all over Tamil Nadu.
The racily-narrated action thriller will, in all probability, catapult hero Surya into the superstar club, too.
Apart from wielding the megaphone, Murugadass has also penned the story, screenplay and dialogue of Ghajini, which has been billed as the second biggest film of the year in Kollywood.
The protagonist Sanjay Ramaswamy (Surya) is a millionaire who believes in championing women’s causes. Asin plays his love interest who gets raped and killed.
The plot thickens after Sanjay suffers from a memory loss after being hit on the head on the night Asin is killed. A doctor (played by Nayanthara) tries to help Sanjay, who tattoos the names of people and places on his body in an attempt to avenge the murder of his lover.
Needless to say, Ghajini is full of action and the stunt scenes have been brilliantly choreographed by Kanal Kannan. RD Rajasekhar handles the camera while Antony does the editing.
The songs of the movie, set to tune by Harris Jayaraj, are already popular. Riyaz Khan and Pradeep Rawat are the baddies.
The producer of Ghajini (which means victory) Salem Chandrasekhar seems confident of striking it rich with the racy action drama.
