She was a successful actress in her heydays. Now she is a high-profile candle-maker and designer.
What began two years back as merely a hobby has now grown into a fulltime enjoyable business proposition for Dimple Kapadia. Her candle-making workshop, christened 'The Faraway Tree', is indeed very close to her heart.
At prices ranging from the reasonable Rs 200 to the exorbitant Rs 2000 there is no dearth of takers for Dimple's designer candles. Moreover, Dimple offers a wide variety --available in different shapes, sizes and series based on aromatherapy.
For instance, there is 'Clarity' that helps relieves mental fatigue, or the exotic 'Essentiality' blend, or the anti-stress 'Tranquility' series, or the 'Botanical' series with candles bearing the designs of flowers and leaves in various hues.
For Dimple 'The Faraway Tree' has become an outlet of her creative urges. She herself reveals that about 90% of the work done in workshop, from designing to cutting the wax is done by her.
Moreover, to chip in her bit towards social welfare, Dimple has been giving a considerable chunk of her sales proceeds to raise funds for Maneka Gandhi's 'People For Animals'.
With no ambitious role in the pipeline at the moment, Dimple seems to be enjoying herself in this new role-- of a candle designer and a social activist. 'The Faraway Tree', it seems, has begun to bear the fruit.
