Manisha seeks Thackeray’s intervention to tame Nair

Manisha Koirala has not given up the battle against nudity in films. True, she suffered a legal setback when the Mumbai High Court allowed filmmaker Shashilal Nair to release his controversial film ‘Ek Chhotisi Love Story’ without any cuts last Friday.
But the feisty actress has refused to throw in the towel. In a clever move, Manisha has approached Shiv Sena chief Bal Thackeray, seeking his intervention in the matter.
Reports have it that the actress met Mr. Thackeray at his residence ‘Matoshree’ in Bandra a few days back.
Manisha, who briefed the Sena chief of the High Court judgment, is learnt to have requested him to do something as the matter concerned the ‘dignity of women.’
Mr. Thackeray seemed to have promised her that he would take ‘necessary’ action.
The Nepali beauty is also likely to meet chairperson of the National Commission for Women, Poornima Advani, sources said.
Meanwhile, her lawyers are planning to appeal to a division bench of the Mumbai HC, as soon as they receive a certified copy of Friday’s judgment.
