The Mumbai High Court on Thursday discharged contempt notices against Bollywood actress Manisha Koirala and producer-director Shashilal Nair following the tendering of an unconditional apology by both.
The court had issued contempt notices against them for taking their row over objectionable scenes in film “Ek Chhoti Si Love Story” to Shiv Sena chief Bal Thackeray.
Justice R.M. Lodha and Justice Dilip Bhosale also dismissed Manisha's appeal against September 5 order of the High Court rejecting her plea to delete objectionable shots in the movie and restraining producer Shashilal Nair from releasing the film until the settlement of dispute raised by the actress.
The judges vacated the injunction granted earlier on the exhibition of the movie, setting the stage for all India release of the film.
Manisha's appeal was dismissed owing to her conduct in taking the matter to the Shiv Sena chief for mediation though the matter was sub-judice.
They also took exception to Manisha's act of approaching the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting.
Justices Lodha and Bhosale dropped the contempt proceedings as both of them tendered unconditional apology.
