Noted actress Rakhee Gulzar on Thursday appeared before a magistrate in response to summons issued against her in a case of alleged cheating.
The court deferred the matter to February 15 when it will decide on framing charges against her.
Rakhee appeared before the Kurla court in Mumbai and furnished a personal bond of Rs 5,000 before a magistrate.
The summons was issued in a cheating case filed by developer Chandulal Patel who alleged through his lawyer Laxman Kanal that the actress had obtained his services for the construction of her farm-house at Panvel but later refused to pay the dues.
Patel filed an FIR with the Chembur police station on May eight, 1999, and also accused Rakhee of forging the account books.
