Jo Bole So Nihaal withdrawn from theatres across India

The screening of Sunny Deol starrer Jo Bole So Nihaal has been stopped in theatres across India as a precautionary measure in the wake of two bomb blasts in two Delhi movie halls where it was being shown.

One person was killed and over 20 injured, some seriously, in the blasts.

Jt CP (Law and Order) Ahmed Javed said in Mumbai on Sunday that they have stopped screening of the movie to which a supreme Sikh body, Shiromani Gurdwara Prabhandak Committee (SGPC), had taken strong objection.

He said security at Sunny’s Juhu residence has been beefed up. The police have also been deployed at theatres across the city where the movie was being shown, he added.

The screening of the film was also suspended indefinitely in a theatre in Chennai in the wake of the bomb blasts in Delhi, police said.

The Melody theatre, where the film was being exhibited since its release on Friday, had suspended the screening since Sunday night, they said.

Jo Bole So Nihaal was also withdrawn from cinema halls in Dehra Dun, official sources said.

A decision to this effect was taken by the distributors of the movie and cinema owners, they said.

The movie which was being screened in the morning show amid tight security was withdrawn. "We have withdrawn the movie from our theatre," Payal Cinema owner Ram Swaroop Marwah confirmed.

Multiplexes in Pune screening Jo Bole So Nihaal have decided to cancel its shows today, police and cinema theatre sources said.

Inox multiplex has decided to cancel the film's screening for this week and may not even show it in the next week too, they said.

Meanwhile, the manager of another multiplex, which had only one show of the film scheduled in the afternoon, said it would most probably be cancelled after discussions with film's distributor.

Police said majority of the theatre managers have informed them that they were cancelling the screening of the controversial movie.

Meanwhile, the producers of the film are holding a meeting to discuss the grave situation arising out of bomb blasts in Delhi theatres.
