The screening of Salman Khan 's latest movie Maine Pyar Kyon Kiya was stopped in Cuttack on Monday following protest by the BJP activists.
"BJP activists led by Cuttack unit President Laltendu Baru, forced us to stop the screening of the film," said Rajatarangini Cinema Hall Manager Narayan Sahu.
The BJP activists were disrupting the screening of the film after a transcript of Salman Khan's conversation with Aishwarya Rai , allegedly revealing his links with the underworld was published on Thursday.
Sahu said when top BJP party leaders had already announced not to disrupt the screening of the film and let the law take its own course, stopping the film in Cuttack by the leaders was really shocking.
Balaram Sabat, distributor of the film in Orissa, said the film was pulled out from four cinema halls in Cuttack, Berhampur, Rourkela and Bhubaneswar during the last three days following protest by BJP supporters.
"I have spent around Rs 8 lakhs on the film. Who would give us that money? If Salman Khan is guilty take action against him not against us," he said.
