HOME | SCOOP!! & NEWS | HAPPENINGS Dharmendra to bring Bollywood to Jaipur27th July 2005 09.13 IST By Agencies Rajasthan government would announce a package within three months to help turn Jaipur into a destination of a high-tech film city with actor-turned-MP Dharmendra playing the vital role of a bridge between the government and Bollywood, a senior official said in Mumbai on Tuesday. The film city would be developed in the next two years in Jaipur with an initial investment of Rs. five crore by Rajasthan government, Lalit Panwar, Commissioner of Jaipur Development Authority, told reporters. 
The city would be developed in an area of over 1000 acres near NH-11 at Jaipur-Agra highway near village Sumel, he added. Officials of Rajasthan government, along with members of Jaipur Development Authority, had a detailed interaction with leading Bollywood directors and producers a few days back, he said. According to Panwar, Rajasthan government has included this project in its budget for 2005-06 and the directors and producers have been given a detailed audio video presentation on the matter. The government also decided to allot an officer to each producer who comes to Jaipur for shooting. Besides, the government would announce an attractive package within three months, Panwar added. More than 500 films have already been shot in Rajasthan. These include ‘Mughal-E-Azam’, ‘Lamhe’, ‘Karan Arjun’ and Amol Palekar's latest Paheli .
