'Kisna' goes to South Korea 04th Aug 2005

Subhash Ghai’s bilingual epic saga Kisna is set to open the prestigious Gwangju International Film festival (GIFF) in South Korea.
GIFF has invited Subhash Ghai and lead actor Vivek Oberoi , for the opening of the film on August 26, a press release said in Mumbai today.
“Kisna has truly been most challenging project. I am overwhelmed by the appreciation it has received at the various film festivals across the world. I am also thankful to GIFF for inviting ‘Kisna’ as its opening film,” Ghai said.
“Despite the lukewarm response at the box office, the film will remain to be my dearest project,” he added.
GIFF is one of the most acclaimed festivals in South Korea where films from across the world are screened.
In its fifth year since its inception in 2000, GIFF has managed to attract some of the noted film makers from across the globe drawing some of the most diverse cinema, it said adding, the festival offers learning opportunity to enrich and enhance the cinema as an art and also shows the moviegoers what cinema is all about.
‘Kisna’, released in January 2005, starred Vivek Oberoi and introduced two new faces – astounding danseuse Isha Sharvani and British actor Antonia Bernath .
