The order by XIII Additional City Civil Court came on an application moved by Kannada film maker and director Kavitha Lankesh who contended that the Hindi film was a "copy" of her Kannada movie Preeti Prema Pranaya made two years ago.
Contending that the film had been made in Hindi without obtaining rights, she sought perpetual injunction restraining the defendants and others connected from exhibiting the film in "any manner" in cinema theatres or on television or the audio presentation of it.
After hearing the counsel for the plaintiff, the court granted ad-interim orders of temporary injunction against the release of the Hindi film "in any manner in any picture house" and ordered issue of suit summons and emergent notice to the defendants.
The case was posted for next hearing on September 30.
