The Delhi High Court on Thursday adjourned to September 23 the hearing on industrialist Sunjay Kapur's petition seeking to restrain his wife Karisma Kapoor from taking their five-month-old daughter Samaira abroad.
Justice Mukul Mudgal, who had on August 30 prevailed over the estranged couple to talk to each other and sort out their differences amicably, adjourned the matter after the counsel for both the parties sought time saying negotiations for settlement were still going on.
While senior counsel Ashok Desai representing Sunjay had been agreeable to the suggestion, Karisma's lawyers had some reservations about it as they said earlier attempts to settle the discord did not fructify.
Karisma's counsel Mahesh Jethmalani said it was a writ petition and not a matrimonial case and the arguments were to be addressed on legal points relating to issue of passport to Samaira and not personal allegations.
