A follower of godman Aniruddha Bapu has filed a defamation suit against Nana Patekar in a Mumbai court for his reported outburst in the media against godmen in the state.
The follower, a former customs officer and businessman, Ulhas Kulkarni has filed a criminal complaint of defamation at the Sewri Magistrate court against Patekar, the editor and publisher of the regional paper that published his statements.
In his complaint, Kulkarni said the statement made by the actor against the godmen were "derogatory and provocative".
"The actor is provoking people to become violent against the people who are serving the society and spreading the message of God", he said.
