HOME | SCOOP!! & NEWS | HAPPENINGS Grand reception for Aamir Khan-Kiran Rao wedding02nd Jan 2006 09.00 IST By Agencies The three-day celebration of Bollywood star Aamir Khan 's wedding to his girlfriend Kiran Rao culminated to a grand reception party in Panchgani Saturday night, attended by several film stars, including Rani Mukherjee and Anil Kapoor . Food and drinks were seen being loaded into the venue - `Meherbai House'- an old Parsi bungalow, and there was a steady stream of cars going in and out for the grand reception. 
This was Aamir's second marriage after he divorced his first wife Reena some time back, but first one for Rao. Security was tight and the actor's personal security guards were preventing mediapersons and outsiders from approaching the venue. Additional police from Mahabaleswar was also deployed at the spot, sources said. Sources also said Aamir seemed to be in a relaxed mood throughout his stay at Panchgani, playing cricket and tennis with his friends, which they said was his way of reminiscing the days of the shooting of the film Laagan , where he had first met Rao, who was assisting filmmaker Ashutosh Gowarikar . Earlier, Aamir-Kiran wedding had got off on a bitter note on December 29 when the actor's personal security guards were engaged in a scuffle with mediapersons outside Palazzo Hotel in Panchgani, where he had put up with his family and friends. Police had later registered complaints against the security guards. Aamir had married Kiran in a civil ceremony in Mumbai on December 28 and the family had headed for Panchgani the next day for a gala celebration.
