A local court in Jodhpur on Monday ordered framing of charges against Bollywood actors Salman Khan , Saif Ali Khan and three heroines in a case relating to the alleged poaching of two black bucks in Kakani in the district in 1998.
Judicial Magistrate Dalpat Singh Rajpurohit adjourned the case till February 27 asking all the five and another accused to appear before the court for hearing the charges.
The case under the Wildlife Protection Act, 1972, and sections 143, 144 and 148 of the Indian Penal Code relating to joining assembly with a deadly weapon, came for hearing in the Judicial Magistrate's court on Monday, officials said.
A petition had been filed before the court to grant exemption to Salman from personal appearance as he was busy with shooting of a film elsewhere, the actor's counsel Hastimal Sarswat said.
During the filming of Hum Saath Saath Hain , a case was lodged by the state Forest Department against Salman on allegations that two black bucks were killed at Kakani in Luni block of the district on October 1 and 2, 1998.
Police filed a chargesheet in the case in the 2000.
