A Mumbai-based game development company, Paradox has signed a worldwide contract with actor Madhavan to create six mobile game titles based on him.
Launching the first game, 'Madhavan's MIG' in Chennai, Paradox CEO Salil Bhargava said on Wednesday the firm aimed at taking gaming on mobile phones and on-line beyond the big cities and were signing up with Indian icons for this purpose.
"We have already signed up with footballer Baichung Bhutia and music director Bappi Lahiri recently for celebrity licences, which would give these games a pan-India appeal."
"The game will be released in several countries abroad among the Indian Diaspora," Bhargava said.
The 'paper-player' model would cost Rs 5 per download, while a one-time download would range from Rs.50-99, he said.
The games, which consists of three levels, would be available on Reliance, Idea and Spice mobile services
Madhavan said the concept of the game had been derived from his role of a pilot in the recent Hindi blockbuster Rang De Basanti , in which he flew an MIG 29 aircraft.
He hoped that all six games would be designed in a way that the players could relate to him as a person.
