Bollywood actress Urmila Matondkar and singer choreographer Shiamak Davar will make their television debuts as judges of SaharaOne's reality show "Super Stars" which goes on air next month.
SaharaOne Television in association with Endemol India will bring alive the concept which has already been a huge success in its international format in 20 countries.
Addressing a press conference in Mumbai on Tuesday, SaharaOne COO Purnendu Bose said the show will last for 60 episodes and three winners will be picked up. The first will get prize money of Rs one crore and a one film contract with Sahara. The second winner will get Rs 50 lakh and third Rs 25 lakh as prize money.
Urmila and Shiamak said the contestants will be judged by the qualities of a superstar they possess and not if they mimic an actor.
Urmila said she was not a judgmental person and sees her role as a jury member as somebody who encourages new talent. She said she was drawn to the show because it develops a contestant as an all round performer and not just a singer or dancer.
Shiamak said discovering new talent is what he has been doing for the last 25 years and the show was all about hunting for a perfect performer.
