HOME | SCOOP!! & NEWS | HAPPENINGS Tax exemption sought for 'Lage Raho Munnabhai'22nd Sept 2006 09.00 IST By Agencies Lauding the Sanjay Dutt – Vidya Balan – Arshad Warsi starrer Lage Raho Munnabhai for "presenting Gandhian principles in a manner suiting modern tastes", Congress leaders on Thursday sought waiver of entertainment tax on the movie in Madhya Pradesh. "We have submitted a memorandum to Governor Balram Jakhar seeking his intervention in asking the government to waive entertainment tax on 'Lage Raho Munnabhai'," state Congress spokesman P C Sharma said in Bhopal. 
The movie presents Gandhian principles in a manner that suits modern tastes, he said. "We believe it should reach the maximum number of people across the state." Jakhar watched the movie at a local theatre on Wednesday. 'Lage Raho Munnabhai' has already been declared tax-free in Delhi.
