Paresh Rawal , who has played every kind of role and portrayed a variety of characters in his movies feels that Indian cinema is changing but today it lacks quality writers.
In Jaipur for a month-long shooting of Priyadarshan 's film Bhool Bhulaiya , Rawal says Indian cinema is growing. Gone are the days when working in a film meant at least two to three years. Now, actors have become disciplined and movies are being completed much faster.
Also, today, actors get everything ready in hand, from their lines to the script and screenplay, he said.
However, what it is lacking is the writers, Rawal said.
Rawal said that everyone first plans to watch a film and from the moment one books the ticket one is engaged in thinking about the film.
"Isliyey cinema woh hai jo aapko sochne par majboor kar de (real cinema is the one which makes you to think), he added.
On the scarcity of good movies these days, Rawal said, the reason we all know. First we have no stories, second we want everything fast.
You see, when the literacy rate in India was less, we have good writers and lyricists. Now, when our literacy rate has gone up we don't have writers, Rawal giggled.
