Paresh Rawal sympathises with the Indian cricket team

Amidst incidents of stone-pelting at houses and restaurants of cricketers following the unceremonious exit of India from the World Cup, the 'Men in Blue' seem to have found at least one sympathiser in Paresh Rawal .

Although not a cricketer himself, Paresh nonetheless has one connection with the game, he plays the role of a cricket maniac janitor in the Milan Luthria directed Hattrick , a movie, which depicts how the lives of five people are affected by the World Cup.

Rawal says he is upset over the stone pelting incidents and ponders why the public does not take out its ire similarly at the houses of politicians who he says are also non-performers.

"It is shocking that team did not perform well but people should not indulge in incidents like stone pelting," says Rawal while commenting on poor performance of Indian team against Sri Lanka in the World Cup.

Condemning the incidents of attacks on the residence of Tendulkar, Dhoni and Zaheer, the actor says," Nobody has right to attack anybody's home. If my son is not performing well, I would not pelt stone on him this is not the way a Hindustani behaves."

If politicians are not performing well, does anybody pelt stone at their houses, questions Rawal. People have lots of expectation from the politicians and they should be made accountable, he points out.

The actor when asked whether any political party had approached him for election campaign, he replied in the negative, adding, " I have nothing to do with this. I am not a qualified person for such campaigns. I would not be able to do it properly."

On a question about the upcoming Assembly polls in Uttar Pradesh and showcasing Bollywood mega superstar Amitabh Bachchan in an advertisement sponsored by the ruling party in the state, he refused to comment but added, "I have no knowledge of the situation in Uttar Pradesh."

He says there are good people in politics but they are few and far between.
