HOME | SCOOP!! & NEWS | HAPPENINGS Irrfan Khan goes to Hollywood with 'A Mighty Heart'13th June 2007 09.00 IST By Agencies Versatile actor Irrfan Khan who will be seen together with Hollywood superstar Angelina Jolie in the film ‘A Mighty Heart’ in its premiere today at New York says he hopes it will catapult his film career providing him with international opportunity. "It is a different experience working in Hollywood because their working style is much more professional. I have always tried to get under the skin of the character to leave a lasting impression on the minds of the audience," Khan said.
Khan plays 'Captain', an ATS chief in the film. Khan has already proved his skills in the film 'Warrior' and The Namesake . The movie is based on a the true story of Wall Street Journal reporter Daniel Pearl, who was abducted and murdered in 2002 while researching a story on Islamic militants. The film portrays the emotional journey of Daniel's wife, played by Jolie long search for her husband's kidnappers and her struggle to come to terms with his death. Khan had accompanied Jolie on the red carpet at the just concluded Cannes film festival where the much-awaited film received a standing ovation for almost 15 to 20 minutes. Director Michael Winterbottom was inspired by Mary Anne's (Daniel's wife) book, which narrates the trauma she suffered after the death of her husband while she was pregnant. Anne had said in an earlier interview that she was in a state of deep shock but was also filled with remorse. This inspired her to write a book based on Pearl's life.
