The front cover of a luxury fashion magazine launched in UK features Bollywood director Karan Johar .

Luxury fashion magazine L'Officiel, which has a substantial readership in India, has been launched in the UK to target overseas Indians at a glittering ceremony attended among others by Shilpa Shetty and Johar.

Gaurav G Motwane, Director, Apricot publications pvt. ltd, publisher of Officiel India said the fashion magazine is expanding its horizons after five years of publication in India.

"Now we are trying to reach the Indians Overseas as there is appetite among the NRIs to know the latest on India," he said.

Amongst the celebrities that attended the launch party at Tamarai, the new celeb hot spot, run by India's old World Hospitality Private Limited were actors Sanjay Kapoor , Upen Patel , Gauri Khan, wife of Shah Rukh Khan and Suzanne Roshan, wife of Hrithik Roshan and Shweta Bachchan Nanda.

"We will be catering directly to that segment of Indian consumers to whom Indian luxury fashion, beauty and lifestyle is of particular relevance," Motwane said.

"It will also be an excellent choice for any UK reader interested in knowing what's going on in Indian high fashion at the moment," he said.

Since its Parisian birth in 1921, L'Officiel has become synonymous with all things luxurious: Sophisticated fashion, couture designers, luxury products and lifestyle options, fashionable personalities in the industry and the elite all around the world.

L'Officiel India, like its Parisian counterpart, is the country's premiere fashion and luxury magazine. It was first launched in India in April 2002.
