Sivan's 'Before the Rains' invited to Toronto Film Festival 12th July 2007

Director Santosh Sivan 's latest film 'Before the Rains' which stars Nandita Das , Rahul Bose , has been invited to participate in the prestigious Toronto Film Festival in September.
The film, which also stars well-known English actors like Jennifer Ehle and John Standing, will see its world premiere at the festival, Sivan said.
"The film is set in India in 1937 and is about a relationship between an Indian tree planter and a British. It has some well known British actors as well as some Malayalam actors," Sivan said.
The movie has been produced by Echo Lake productions and filmed largely in Munnar, a hill station in Kerala.
Sivan is also excited about his next project, a film for the BBC, called 'The Wedding Party'.
"The film is not about a Indian wedding, as the title may suggest. It is set in Afghanistan and I am very excited about it. We will start shooting soon," he added.
