Bollywood superstar Salman Khan was questioned for over an hour late Tuesday in connection with an accident case in which a Canadian model friend of his was arrested.
"Salman was seen at the accident spot within minutes of the incident and we had called him for an enquiry like in any other case as we normally do. He was busy shooting during the day due to which he came at the Worli police station at around 9 pm IST," Deputy Commissioner of Police (zone 3) Ashok Deshbhratar said in Mumbai.
Deshbhratar, however, did not divulge details about the matter and said Salman has not yet been shown an accused in the case.
The actor was first suspected to be in the car that hit a police constable on a motorcycle late Sunday.
But the police later clarified that Khan was actually not in the vehicle but came to the spot and it was one Kiran Kishore Chandiramani (aged around 25) who was with the model, Brook Lindsay Clark.
The Bollywood star, already facing trial for an accident that killed a person in September 2002, is however known to Clark (aged around 26) who was driving the car that hit the motorcycle injuring the rider and the policeman who was riding pillion.
