After capturing the minds of the people across the nation with his Chak De India song, scriptwriter Jaideep Sahni is now penning the lyrics for a dog in animated film, Roadside Romeo .

Jaideep, who also wrote the lyrics, dialogue and screenplay for the just released Madhuri Dixit starrer Aaja Nachle , wants the 'child' in him go berserk while penning the lyrics for the upcoming film.

Romeo, the stylish dog, plays the lead role in Jugal Hansraj's animated feature film, 'Roadside Romeo.'

"I am writing the lyrics for 'Roadside Romeo'. It is an animation flick about a dog who is abandoned on the streets of Mumbai. I hope it will be fun to write the lyrics for a dog," he says adding, "It was like a legal license to let the child in me go berserk."

The writer, whose films like Company and Jungle fared well, says he wants to expand his domain and work on multiple and different stories from diverse fields of interest.

"I want to write on a variety of films. Given a chance I would like to do science fiction, something on ISRO, or micro credit, or may be public sector like railways, rights etc," he said.

But, Sahni has no place for love and romance in his patchwork of ideas and expresses no enthusiasm for an "out and out romantic film".

"I don't know what exactly love is. I am not clear about the emotions of love," says the 35-year-old bachelor, who has nevertheless penned the rhythmic numbers for the small time crooks, characters of Abhishek Bachchan and Rani Mukherjee in the 2005 released film Bunty Aur Babli .

"It is fortunate that now we are able to tell the story which we want to tell. The audience is bored of escapist and fantasy cinema where the characters are larger than life," he says.

The writer who is still bubbling with enthusiasm of 'Aaja Nachle' confesses that he was apprehensive as well as under pressure while working on the film.

"I was apprehensive because it was a huge responsibility to write something substantial for Madhuriji as it was her comeback film. But I should say apart from being under pressure it was a great strength too," he says.

"Knowing the performer that she is, we could try out certain things which otherwise we have avoided," he explains.
