South African city Durban has become a hotspot for Bollywood filmmakers. The latest film to be shot there is the Shiney Ahuja starrer ‘Black Diamond’.
The cast and crew of the film, due for a release next year, is loving every moment in Durban.
The movie, the first directorial venture in Hindi of Kannada filmmaker Indrajit Lankesh, has Shiney Ahuja playing a biker. Goan-beauty Ileana D-Cruz is paired with him.
“This is a hot place,” said award winning director Lankesh, during a break in shooting, adding, “it's the only city in the world where we have such a good relationship with the authorities.”
“We can shut down any road we want with the assistance of the Metro Police's special events team and the Durban film office."
Earlier, a major portion of the 2006 hit Dhoom 2 was shot in Durban.
Allan Amin, the action director of the film, also praised Durban and its people.
"The municipality is really great to work with. I will definitely do work in Durban again. Durban has a lot to offer."
After completing shooting in Durban on December 14, the lead actors, directors and crew of 150 will move to the interior of the KwaZulu-Natal to complete the film.
