Aamir Khan 's directorial debut Taare Zameen Par has been declared tax-free in Delhi in view of the message it conveys.
Despite the film having a bold and unconventional theme like Dyslexia, a learning disorder from which several children suffer, 'Taare Zameen Par' has turned out to be a box office hit.
"The expectation is that the tax-free status of 'Taare Zameen Par' will extend to other states," an industry observer said.
'Taare Zameen Par' which opened with 425 prints pan-India, has reportedly raked in Rs 150 million at the domestic box office in the first three days.
Making films with strong social or national messages tax-free is a popular trend.
