Bollywood mega superstar Amitabh Bachchan has reacted to noted script writer Salim Khan's comment on his television advertisements.
Observing that it’s nothing new for celebrities to be at the receiving end, Bachchan said he is not an exception to it and people in a democratic country are free to express themselves.
He was reacting to noted script writer Salim Khan's comment on his television ads for Uttar Pradesh government saying "UP mein hai dum, kyunki jurm hai yahaan kum.
"This is a democratic country and everyone has the right to express themselves," the Big B told reporters during a press conference on his forthcoming film Bhootnath .
In an article published in a Mumbai daily, Khan wrote at times actors just concentrate on the pay packets and not the content they are delivering through their advertisements.
Bachchan further elaborated by saying, "I do not know the reason for the supposed animosity as I take Salim Khan to be a close friend as his contribution to my career is impeccable."
The Big B also said he is not going to work with Ram Gopal Varma again due to the bitter experience he had during ‘Aag’, the remake of Sholay .
But Bachchan will soon be seen in the Varma directed Sarkar Raj .
