Bollywood mega superstar Amitabh Bachchan went down the memory lane on Wednesday to talk of beautiful Goa for the shoot of his debut film ‘Saat Hindustani’ released in 1969.
"Those were the wonderful days when Goa was exquisitely beautiful, quiet and less crowded," the Big B said while launching a coffee table book 'Aparanta, Land Beyond the End' at a five star hotel in Panaji.
The book, a brainchild of veteran industrialist Dattaraj Salgaoncar, celebrates Goan life, culture and history from pre-historic times down to the present day.
Recalling the days of Khwaja Ahmad Abbas-produced 'Saat Hindustani', Bachchan said the entire crew had to wade through jungles for almost one month, recreating the pre-liberation times.
"Abbas saab was purely socialist in his writing, attitude and the way he made films. When we set out to shoot this film, he made it sure that we follow principles of socialism," the Big B recalled.
The book release function was attended by among others Goa's veterans including famous cartoonist Mario Miranda, pop singer Remo Fernandes , fashion designer Wendell Rodricks and Speaker Pratapsingh Rane.
