Paris museum to celebrate Bollywood stars 21st May 2008

'Indian Summer', an annual film festival hosted by the Guimet Museum of Asian Arts in Paris, will mark its fifth year in September-October 2008 with a full-fledged celebration of "the stars of Bollywood".
"A total of 23 films will be screened over a period of two months and the package will include entries spanning over 60 years -- from the 1940s to the present day," Martine Armand, who has been curating the film festival since its inception, said at Cannes.
She said: "The idea is to present the entire historical range -- from Mehboob Khan's 'Aan', starring Dilip Kumar to Yash Chopra 's Veer Zaara , featuring Shah Rukh Khan . The festival will open with a screening of 'Guide', directed by Vijay Anand and starring Dev Anand and Waheeda Rahman ."
Among the other major films to be screened as part of the Indian Summer festival will be 'Jagte Raho', 'Bobby', 'Maya Memsaab', Devdaas , 'Dil Se' and Raincoat .
"The package," Armand announced, will lay a special emphasis on the films of Guru Dutt by screening 'Chaudhvin Ka Chand', 'Mr. and Mrs. 55', 'Kaagaz Ke Phool', 'Pyaasa' and 'Sahib Bibi Aur Ghulam'. He has a huge following across France."
