HOME | SCOOP!! & NEWS | HAPPENINGS Dharmesh Darshan confident 'Bhanvraa' will be liked by all14th June 2008 10.00 IST By Agencies Known for films like Raja Hindustani , Dhadkan and Bewafaa noted director Dharmesh Darshan is all set to release his latest venture Bhanvraa . Dharmesh, who made his directional debut with film 'Lootere' in 1993 is busy with the post-production work for his new movie 'Bhanvraa'.
"'Bhanvraa', is very much of today's type of movies. It reflects youngsters’ way of living life. The story moves around the different circumstances faced by youngsters and how they try to overcome it," Darshan said in Mumbai. From call centre jobs to leading and enjoying life is the part of the movie. Youngsters will have fun in watching it," he said. Dharmesh is doing production debut through ‘Bhanvraa’, which will be the first release from 'Dharmesh Darshan Productions', his own newly established production house. "I am confident about the movie. It should come true to the expectation of all cinegoers," he said. He was amused at the talk going around about his decision of casting four TV actors -- Eijaz Khan, Manav Gohil, Sangeeta Ghosh and Shweta Salve -- in the film. "Since the subject was new, I wanted to cast new talents in it. All the four actors are young and suit the story idea," Darshan said adding, "They are not the newcomers. All of them have proved their talents on small screens." Dharmesh's second film in 1996 'Raja Hindustani' was a big blockbuster of 90s. He was much appreciated for it and won 'Filmfare Best Movie Award' including other awards at the 'Star Screen Awards Ceremony'. After that he took a break of four years and returned in 2000 with two releases, which were directed and written by him. His first film of the year Mela starring Aamir Khan was disastrous at the box office and was poorly reviewed by critics. However, his second release 'Dhadkan' with Akshay Kumar and Shilpa Shetty did moderately well at the box office. Dharmesh was nominated for 'Dhadkan' in different award ceremonies for Best Director, Best Film and the Best Story categories. The years between 2001 and 2005 proved to be moderate for him and the Director-writer couldn't win any award nor make his movie hit. 'Bewafaa', which was released in 2005 by Darshan couldn't yield much acclaimed and adjudged below average at the box office despite having successful songs that found place at all the music lovers’ heart. His latest release in 2006 was Aap Ki Khatir which was a remake of the Hollywood hit 'The Wedding Date' didn't do business at the Box Office. Movie critics and reviewers feel that his upcoming flick 'Bhanvraa' may hold some hope for Dharmesh. But, show concern for its "not-so-popular" star cast. Dharmesh, however downplays any such attempts behind the failure of his movie. "Newcomers not always bring failures for the movie. All the successful stars of today had flop movies in their career. 'Newcomers' or 'Veteran' is not at all the criteria to assess one's success," said Darshan. The movie is scheduled to release this year. "I am positive that this movie will be liked by all," he added.
