Amitabh Bachchan and Robert De Niro to team up?

Bollywood icon Amitabh Bachchan is set to share the screen space with Hollywood stalwart Robert De Niro for an untitled venture by the acclaimed writer-director Paul Schrader, who’s written scripts for Martin Scorsese and directed movies like ‘Mishima: A Life in Four Chapters’ and ‘Light Sleeper’.

Recently, Paul was on a secret tour to Mumbai for couple of days. And assisting him on this recce was Anubhav Sinha who will collaborate with Schrader in the making of this movie.


Amitabh Bachchan was first approached by Schrader’s agent earlier this year and expressed interest in the project. Though the superstar has yet to sign on the dotted line, he is reported to have given his nod to the project and will receive a bound script by March end.

As for De Niro, Anubhav confirms talks are on with some A-list stars from Hollywood but refuses to divulge any names.

Reportedly, the movie is going to be shot extensively in New York, Mumbai and Dubai. Sources say Anubhav will shoulder the responsibility for the Indian leg of shooting.

But what we can’t wait to see is the coming together of the two giants of cinema – Big B and De Niro. That would be truly sensational.
