'Ghajini' lands into legal trouble

Responding to a plea by A. Chandrasekharan, the producer of Ghajini (Tamil) , Justice P.R. Shiva Kumar granted the stay on the film’s release which is set to hit the theatres on December 25 with special preview screenings on the evening of December 24.

Chandrasekharan’s KBC Pictures claim to possess the rights of remaking the Tamil version of the movie and has accused the producers of ‘Ghajini’, Geetha Arts of Allu Aravind, for copyright infringement.


KBC Pictures is already producing a film titled "Kahani Ghajini Ki".

What’s interesting to note is that KBC Pics waited until two days before the ‘Ghajini’ release to file a lawsuit.

The producers of ‘Ghajini’ would return to the court on December 24 to seek the repealing of the stay order before the court goes on winter vacation.

‘Ghajini’ is a remake of the Tamil film of the same name in 2005. Director A.R. Murugadoss has changed only the last thirty minutes in the Hindi version. The movie stars Aamir Khan , Asin and Jiah Khan .
