Jade Goody too unwell to meet Shilpa Shetty

Goody’s condition worsened over the weekend after she left hospital and came home to spend more time with her kids. Doctors had said her end could be near and Shilpa, who hadn’t been able to attend Goody’s wedding, rushed to bid farewell to her.

But Goody’s publicist Max Clifford says the meeting couldn’t be arranged as Goody is too unwell.


"She is not well. Shilpa totally understands that," Mr Clifford told bbc.com.

Shilpa, too, has told a news agency that she wants to meet Jade one last time, but she understands the circumstances.

“I really want to meet her but unfortunately only her mother and husband are allowed to be with her. I’ve no choice but to respect that,” Shilpa told a news agency.

Shilpa added that she will keep praying for Goody, however.

“I really feel terrible about what has happened to her. All I can do is pray. I’m not giving up hope of seeing her one last time,” said Shilpa.

Shilpa and Jade had a series of altercations on Britain’s reality show ‘Celebrity Big Brother’ in 2007 but later they sorted out their differences and became friends. In 2008, Goody even flew to India to participate in the Indian reality show ‘Bigg Boss’ but had to leave the show mid-way after she was diagnosed with cervical cancer, which, since then, has turned terminal and spread to other part of her body.
