Katrina's character modeled on Sonia Gandhi

Katrina Kaif plays a pivotal role in Jha’s political thriller Rajniti which also has Ranbir Kapoor , Ajay Devgan , Nana Patekar , Naseeruddin Shah and a host of other actors from Bollywood.

According to reports, Katrina plays a simple woman who evolves into a strong political figure after the death of her husband, a politician. The story has a strong resemblance to the life of Sonia Gandhi and it is being rumoured that Katrina’s character in the film is modeled on the Congress chief.


Katrina, however, refuses to divulge anything about her character.

Prakash Jha admits that Katrina is required to make rousing political speeches in the second half of the film. In fact, Jha has recorded the political speeches in chaste Hindi and sent the tapes to Katrina to rehearse and master them.
