Priyanka and Harman begin shooting for 'What's Your Raashi'

After a successful period drama Jodhaa Akbar , Ashutosh Gowarikar is now trying something lighthearted and mirthful in ‘What’s Your Raashi’ which went on the floors on December 6 in Mumbai.

The movie sees a departure for Gowarikar from the larger-than-life movies he has made so far. It’s based on a Gujarati novel ‘Kimball Ravenswood’ by Mr. Madhu Rye. The novel tells the tale of a young Gujarati man who must search his dream girl within 10 days to save his family from an unforeseen ordeal. And this leads to lots of confusion and commotion, indeed comedy of errors sort.


Gowarikar is excited about making the first rom-com of his career.

"It is a genre that I have always loved and I had always wanted to attempt," Gowarikar said in a press statement.

Ashutosh, who is inspired by the rom-coms like ‘Romantic Holiday’ and ‘When Harry Met Sally’, is also a big fan of Hrishikesh Mukherjee and Basu Chatterjee films.

‘What’s Your Raashi’ will see Priyanka Chopra in 12 different avatars. She will portray 12 characters representing twelve sun signs. It is also a big movie for Harman Baweja who is struggling to get a foothold in Bollywood after a lackluster debut in Love Story 2050 .

The movie is co-produced by UTV Motion Pictures and Ashutosh Gowarikar Productions. Lyrics are penned by Javed Akhtar , music is by Sohail Sen, screenplay is written by Naushil Mehta and Ashutosh Gowarikar, dialogues are by Naushil Mehta, costume design by Neeta Lulla, Art direction by Nitin Desai and director of photography is Piyush Shah.

The movie is planned to be shot in a single start-to-end schedule.
