Shilpa invites IPL 'rival' Preity to Holi bash

How much of this ‘rivalry’ is media projection and how much reality remained a matter of speculation until Shilpa decided to clear the air by inviting Preity over to a pre-Holi grand party at Grand Hyatt on March 10.

The bash, hosted jointly by Shilpa and her businessman beau Raj Kundra, is to celebrate their entry into the IPL.


Speaking about sending the invite to Preity, Shilpa told a news agency: "I really want these unsavoury rumours about our rivalry to end. On an impulse I sent an SMS to Preity inviting her for the party that Raj and I are hosting."

However, Preity won’t be attending the bash because she would be out of town on March 10.

Shilpa told the agency that she was pleasantly surprised when Preity replied back.

"She said she'd love to come. But can't because she'd be out of town. I think that just about takes care of that. I'm sure we'll have other occasions to interact. For now it's enough that she accepted my invitation."

Interestingly, Shilpa and Preity have never had any ego hassles with each other in the past. They were even together on the Bachchans’ world tour and “got along fine”.

Shilpa was looking forward to the IPL opening ceremony in Jaipur but is a bit disappointed that it has now been shifted to Mumbai for security reasons. But she says she is happy that the tournament is going ahead.
