Tabu says that working with painter-cum-filmmaker M F Hussain in his movie Meenaxi was a unique experience in itself.
It was nothing short of a challenge for Tabu to enact three different roles in Meenaxi: A Tale of Three Cities.
“I got hooked to the role when I heard the script for the first time. Here was the story of a mysterious girl who adopts different personas in three different cities of Jaisalmer, Hyderabad and Prague. There were many complexities in the role and I took it as a challenge to do this film,” said Tabu in a brief interview.
About the filmmaking talent of M F Hussain, Tabu said: “Hussain saab has this passion for imbuing every frame of his movie with beautiful hues, colors and elements of symbolism. His camera is like his pallete.”
Apart from the visible beauty of the movie, Tabu says Meenaxi was a special movie for her as it enabled a process of inner exploration.
“Hussain saab made me aware of certain emotions that I never knew existed inside me. So Meenaxi was not just another movie for me. It was an inner journey.”
