Rani Mukherjee, the leading actress of Hum Tum , says working in the movie was an experience close to her heart.
This week Yash Raj Films’ Hum Tum will hit the theatres. The movie, with Rani and Saif Ali Khan in the lead, is a feel-good film about two mismatched people.
In the movie Rani plays an independent young woman Rhea, who runs into a cartoonist named Karan (Saif) in the Netherlands. They are two wholly different people – he’s an incorrigible flirt who believes a man and a woman can never be friends.
Speaking about her experience of working in the film, Rani said: “Hum Tum is close to my heart. Its a touchy story that will remind people of their adolescence and romance.”
In the movie, Rani essays the journey of a character from an 18-year-old to a 28-year-old.
"I have gone through a transition myself. While playing this role, I went back to my college days. Every person goes through a careless phase and then matures. In Hum Tum it's the same process," said Rani.
The film is Rani's second venture with director Kunal Kohli whose debut Mujhse Dosti Karoge failed to strike a chord at the box office.
