'Moksha'

Ace cinematographer Ashok Mehta’s directorial debut “Moksha” is a sensible film about an idealist who turns out to be a misfit in the established order of the contemporary society.

The film stars handsome model-turned-actor Arjun Rampal, the Nepalese beauty Manisha Koirala, and the talented duo Nasiruddin Shah and Paresh Rawal in the lead roles.

“Moksha” is the story of a young and ambitious law

graduate Vikram Sehgal (Arjun Rampal) whose intellect and ‘will to do something extraordinary’ sets him apart from the rest average lot. Vikram soon realizes that he is a misfit in the society in which corruption was the order of the day and only debauched and venal ones ruled the roost.

An unfazed Vikram takes the tough decision to go against the stream. He is convinced of the shortcomings of the judicial system. So rather than taking the conventional course of practicing law in the court he wants to bring about justice to people in his own unique way.

Ritika (Manisha) understands Vikram well and stand shoulder to shoulder with him through all the rough and tumble.

Hardly had Vikram begun to form a new institution (different from the established ones) where the true justice would be imparted he finds himself in strange quandary. He is forced to don the black gown and enter the portals of the same court he vowed not to enter. Reason? His first and last case. And strangely he has to fight it in defense of himself!

“Moksha” is a gripping thriller that on one hand brings to light the sorry state of affairs of society and on the other it makes a blunt statement about the venal lawyers and corrupt politicians.
